Firefighter / Paramedic Testing starts October 4, 2018
The Town of Normal is now taking applications for the Firefighter/Paramedic testing. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, have a H.S. diploma or GED, a valid driver's license and be at least age 21 by time of hire. All applicants must pass the written and physical exams and other testing components to become a Normal Firefighter/Paramedic.
Complete employment application online by by 5:00pm September, 22, 2018. Within 24 hours completing an application, an email will be generated to you directing you to register online for a written examination day/time that best fits your schedule. Allot three hours for your written exam. Plan to arrive around 15 minutes early, and bring photo identification for admission to the test facility (Uptown Station, 11 Uptown Circle, 4th floor, Room 411). If you have a current CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) card that has been issued within the last year, please bring a copy of this to the written examination.

Firefighter/Paramedic Applicant Notice
A successful Firefighter/Paramedic applicant must possess a valid State of Illinois Paramedic License or a National Registry Paramedic License at the time a tentative offer of employment is extended. Once an offer of employment is extended applicants must immediately obtain EMS System Certification to be employed. Applicants without a Paramedic license should be enrolled in, and have significantly completed, a Paramedic training program before testing with the Town of Normal.
