The Town of Normal operates an automated wheeled garbage cart program for the collection of household waste. To have your trash collected, you must utilize a Town-issued garbage cart.
Additionally, the Town of Normal offers single stream curbside recycling to residents in single family and duplex homes. In order to participate in the curbside recycling program, you must have a Town-issued, wheeled cart.
Landscape Waste Carts (wheeled garbage carts with landscape waste decals) are available to order. The use of a Town cart is not required for landscape waste collection. See Landscape Waste for more details.
To purchase a new cart using our online payment option, please click here. Carts are offered in two sizes, 65 gallon and 95 gallon, and will be delivered within 3 business days. The cost for a cart is $60 for either a 65 gallon or 95 gallon cart.
To pay in person by cash, check or credit card, please come to the Finance Department, 3rd Floor of City Hall in Uptown Normal. Call the Finance Department at 309-454-9516 with any questions, or to pay by telephone using your credit/debit card.
Recycle carts may also be purchased on an installment plan by calling the Finance Department at 454-9516 or stop by the Finance Department at City Hall, 11 Uptown Circle. Recycle carts ordered via the installment plan will be delivered within 2 weeks of receipt of the 1st installment payment.
