  6. Public Hearing - Input Sought for Housing and Community Development Needs

    The City of Bloomington and Town of Normal are working to improve housing and neighborhoods, with approximately $1 million in federal Community Development Block Grant funding received each year to drive that work forward. This program is designed to allow students to take 2 SAT practice tests, along with 7 strategy sessions to help boost your SAT score. Students will become familiar with how the new SAT format works, along with being able to practice reading, writing and math, to find your weaknesses and strengths. After each test, students will receive a detailed score report, which breaks down your SAT test to your individual strengths and weaknesses. Participants should bring pencils, a notebook, and a calculator.

  12. Medici Craft Beer and Jazz Street Fair

    Summer is a great time to enjoy brews and blues and there’s no better place to enjoy them than Uptown Normal! On July 20 from 4 pm to 10 pm, Medici will host the 3rd Annual Craft Beer and Jazz Street Fair on North Street. This year’s event will feature over 45 craft beers, many of which are limited release or products not typically available in Central Illinois. All of the beer will be served in a four ounce pour so attendees are able to sample different selections. In addition to the beer tasting, a wonderful line up of jazz will be featured on the stage. For $5, attendees will receive a commemorative glass (while supplies last) live entertainment, and a program that includes a listing of all brews, with proceeds benefiting the Children’s Discovery Museum and Uptown Partners, an association of Uptown businesses.
